Over the last month we've had a blast embracing the uniqueness of your extra thumb! Daddy thinks you may be an extra talented baseball pitcher someday and your grandpa is hoping you take up golf. I love holding your little hand and feeling the extra grasp, it couldn't be any sweeter :) I also can't get over how special it is that you were named after my Papa who only had one thumb due to an accident; it's almost like you inherited his extra thumb to make up for his missing one! I wonder what other traits you will gain from Papa? I'd guess a heart of gold if this last month is any predictor.
Speaking of the fun we've been having lately ... the other night we were imagining a future dinner conversation as we ate our own dinner. It went something like this:
MAMA: Alrighty kiddos, what did you think of dinner tonight? My hope and prayer is that your special addition will be a source of fun, laughter, and extra talent. It makes you who you are and we LOVE ever part of that!
JEMMA: This is the best dinner ever! I give it two thumbs up!
MAX: (giggling) Well, I beat you, Jemmie ... I GIVE IT THREE THUMBS UP!
XOXO,
Mama

Thank you! It's never easy to embrace something the world doesn't deem as perfect. But, I hope by sharing my experience and reflections I'll be able to help Max (and others) celebrate their uniqueness :)
I love hearing about other three thumb lovers :) Glad to know that your cousin is fan of his extra digit!
